As we reflect upon the challenges and changes we have encountered not only in the past year, but the past decade we realize that Howpark Farm has evolved in so many ways. We officially became completely certified organic with all our enterprises in 2011 and we have now transitioned into a more “regenerative organic farming” model. We have collaborated on many research projects with the University of Manitoba and Brandon University and now are currently involved with a 3 year regenerative agriculture project with General Mills. We have hosted countless students and groups from University of Manitoba, Brandon University and Assiniboine Community College, sharing with them our farming practices, our land’s native prairie habitat and the ecology of our land for them to study. We have seen our 3 children graduate from university and now have two sons trained as Mechanical Engineers and a daughter who is soon to be a Doctor of Chiropractic! We want to thank all of our past customers for continuing to support local producers and look forward to the exciting challenges the coming decade will bring!
Congratulations Ian and Linda on being life-long learners and helpful parents. It appears that your adult children have learned great skills on your farm to help them succeed in their chosen careers.
